It is the next card after the Devil card. Due to the classic meaning we can say that if a person is caught in a network, arranged by the devil, he is doomed to fall.

But there is no any fall at this card, we can see that this tower destroyed from inside. This is a need for self-improvement and inner growth, which is stimulated by the presence of a number of psychological problems. This is an unconscious desire for self-destruction. Lanterns hanged up high, they are the symbol of higher consciousness, can be pushed under the pressure of inner problems. Energy that is boiling inside the tower is not aimed at self-development, and on self-destruct.

We can see that everything is quite and calm outside (2 lanterns on two sharp swords = 2 of wands (calmness) and 2 of swords (conflict)), one side of the tower is black and another one is red. It is calmness and conflict at the same time, two edges of human hesitations between material and spiritual.

It means that the external calmness hides behind the mask of the internal conflict which erodes human inside and can lead him/her to the madness. We can see flame of fire which breaks away from the opening of the tower, it resembles the horns of the Devil.
This flame is ready to absorb all that was left in a man from living and spiritual, completely destroying him.
